engraving techniques

We currently have two main computerised engraving machines and a manual pantograph.

The main machine we use is a state of the art multipurpose engraver which will engrave round items as well as flat. It also enables us to engrave bangles & rings, both inside & out. The capabilities of this machine are incredible, from engraving the smallest jewellery with text less than 1mm high, to a large cup or salver. Most materials can be engraved including metals, plastics, and glass.

We also have a machine which is specifically designed for making signs such as brass plaques (e.g. outside doctors / solicitors etc.), safety signs, memorial plaques, or any other signmaking requirements.

Both engravers are run from standard Microsoft Windows PCs so compatibility with a customer's existing font or logo is not usually a problem. Engraving crests or logos for companies & clubs is also a standard process.

We are used to accommodating unusual requests - we've recently engraved a 5 foot sword (to be used as a wedding cake knife!), chocolate fountain for a wedding, a camera, sat nav system and more. Previous jobs have included a trombone, numerous yards of ale - yes, glass engraving is no problem - and many more.

We have also become the UK's leading suppliers of engraved ceremonial spades.
